All across Canada, workers seem to be denying to apply to work or even are looking for new employers. However, employers are continuously crying out for workers. The contradiction has led me to asking a few questions, and thr biggest one is, why? Canada has gone through recessions before but never is it typical to see a majority of the country looking for other means of employment. With majority already being unemployed, might I add. Statistics indicate 5% unemployment, but this does not add up at all. Even when you look at the numbers for the Social Welfare Program Statistics. With neither of these being the reasons for unemployment it made me wonder if perhaps it was something to do with our disability benefits... The sad part is the best results I could muster were these. And I will admit this one is rather out dated. But then, it hit me... the rate of refugees accepted onto Welfare was an average to 65%to 85% which would suggest perhaps too many immigrants were depending on this system? Well, it looks like this may be a lead. So, it made me raise the question of just how many refugees reside in Canada. Which according to this its close to a fifth of Canadian Population. So it really would be more like a 3rd of the population depending on the system in some way. At least up until this point of my investigation. However, I have not brought up how I found the Retirement and Employment insurance population adds into this. The rather shocking part is that only roughly the same number of refugees is pretty close to our retired citizens. Now here is the real twist, over two thirds of Canada is now out of that working statement I am getting prepared for. These people are all under circumstances of unemployment. So how they came up with a 5% unemployment rate is beyond be, because according to what I see, it seems like a much larger pool is actually unemployed. But let's not forget, self employed people don't count towards the employed people either. So now I had to figure out how many self employed people there are. Here they indicate that's roughly 10%. So, now we see around 3/4s of Canada not working. So, why are employers having such a hard time with finding workers? Well, if Rideau Hall is having issues, I think it goes to say it's present in most of the country. I couldn't leave this alone though. I needed much more if I wanted to actually present my idea of how toxic the Canadian Workplace is becoming. When nurses are crying out and quitting because of statuses of abuse they refuse to see, as that is not in their job what so ever. So, this hasn't only impacted mental health but, physical and emotional health issues as well. In all honesty, I personally can see why some nurses quit when exposed to this. These may seem like odd ball cases of workplace abuse. But the cases keep adding up. There are so many things implemented to help us get workers rights. It even is here that the employer is responsible to stop discrimination, harassment and other stuff. So as I continued down this endless journey. I came across the "Elkhorn Resort" Situation. So everywhere across Canada seems to have cries of workplace abuse. With the uprise of all these situations wherever you look, I wouldn't blame the typical Canadian Worker.
