Praey for the Gods is the obvious spiritual successor to Shadow of the Colossus. Only it is developed not by Japanese geniuses, but by the indie team No Matter Studios, which raised the budget via Kickstarter.
As in the work of Fumito Ueda, in Praey for the Gods you have to climb over the huge monsters and look for vulnerabilities on their bodies. The key difference is the entourage. The main character finds herself on an abandoned snowy island. The cold gets to the bones, you just can't find food, and the snow is sometimes so thick that it interferes with your ability to move.
If you're confused by the word Prey, you shouldn't be: earlier, instead of it, there was the more familiar Prey, but Bethesda came to the developers with a court threat - they say, that they own the rights to the Prey trademark, so No Matter Studios must keep their hands off. So Prey in the title had to be replaced.
Praey for the Gods is an open-world survival game whose main goal is to defeat several giant creatures. This is usually done by climbing them to attack their weaknesses. Each time you defeat a boss, the game instructs you to find and kill another one. But you may be wondering if you're okay with bosses.
The answer is no -- you don't have to fight bosses in order in Praey for the Gods. While the game challenges you to kill creatures in order, just as each boss has a number in the achievement list, you can fight them in the order you see fit. For example, we fought the fourth boss, Dreki, before fighting Boar, which is the third boss
This freedom means that the player explores the world without having to retreat due to the inability to fight bosses out of turn. It also means that you can run into a boss without even knowing it. Although you can fight however you want, it might be better to stick to the order.
The order in which the bosses are presented seems to correspond to the difficulty level. For example, the fourth boss, Dreki, is the first flying boss you will encounter. If you are still learning the game mechanics, this fight may be difficult.
Cool dude
