Real Madrid ended the Group D phase of the Champions League with an impressive after defeating Inter Milan in the final match.
The Real Madrid vs Inter Milan match which took place at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium ended with the score 2-0 for the host victory.
Real Madrid's winning goal against Inter Milan was scored by Toni Kross in the 17th minute and Marco Asensio's placing kick in the 79th minute. These results made Real Madrid firmly at the top as Champions League Group D winners with a total of 15 points, five points ahead from Inter Milan in second place.
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti admits he is not worried about potential opponents in the round of 16 or the knockout phase of the Champions League later.
"The important thing is that we are top of the group. I'm not worried about the draw. Whatever happens, we want to try and win this trophy," said Ancelotti.
Ancelotti also considered that Real Madrid had the quality to become champions, both winning the Spanish La Liga and the Champions League.
"We have the quality to win the league and compete for the Champions League. There is no team with the quality to win it outright, teams will compete for it (champions)," he said.
The Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi also opened his voice about drawing the Champions League.
"There are very strong teams, both in first and second position. The important thing is that we qualify, when the time comes, we have to be at our best," he said.
Champions League standings: Milan is the key, Real Madrid remains at the top
