Resident Evil 7 set a record in the series not including re-releases - 10 million copies sold

Capcom has announced that sales of the horror game Resident Evil 7: Biohazard have exceeded 10 million copies. This figure includes the game's delivery to retailers and digital sales directly.

It took 4 years and 8 months for Resident Evil 7 to reach the cherished mark. This is a new record in the series - previously none of the Resident Evil games has reached 10 million sales without re-releases.

The remake of Resident Evil 2 is in the second place with 8.6 million copies, and the original Resident Evil 5 with 7.9 million copies is in the third place.

According to rumors, now Capcom is working on a spin-off Resident Evil Outrage, a remake of Resident Evil 4 and the final part of the new Resident Evil 9 trilogy.
