As I already wrote, Rimbaud is the result of crossing Talisman and Velika grape varieties. The seedling was planted with seeds in 2013 on the breeding plot of Viktor Mikhailovich Kalugin. This combination of varieties has produced several promising dark berry forms, including Alvika, Black Crystal, Matador, Messenger and Rimbaud. All of them are on trial, and also show good results with other winegrowers. By the way, Rimbaud is one of the few forms of Kalugin whose parental couple is known.
The name of the hybrid form corresponds to the last name of the character John Rambo from the film series of the same name. For a single difference in spelling in the original translation into Russian.
Characteristic in comparison with the Great
Velika's main problem is that it is not easy to load a bush with a crop. It gives out a large marketable berry with small clusters. However, we found that the situation is evened out with a set of wood. Rimbaud in this regard was also initially scolded for medium-sized clusters, but now information is already being received about clusters up to 2 kg.
The ripening period declared by the author is super-early - an exaggeration, I think it will be very early or just early, which is not bad.
Clusters are large, medium density, cylindrical-conical shape, without peas, marketable. I saw up to 1 kg, but there is potential, so I'm waiting for a better result.
The berry is very large, elongated, but unlike Velika, it is thicker at the base. The pulp is dense, fleshy in texture, it can even be crunchy when biting while being juicy. In terms of taste, it is slightly inferior to Velika, as for me, but it is also worthy.
Bushes of great vigor. I also note the excellent maturation of the vine, even when grafted.
Stability is normal. With standard treatments, neither oidium nor mildew was missing. I did not observe the cod of berries after the rains. Frost resistance conditionally -23ºС.

Season 2020
Rimbaud is one of the few forms that shows excellent results in terms of fruit, yield, and, oddly enough, in terms of ripening. So far, only positive emotions, we will expand further.
