Senator Tsekov: lawsuits of residents of the DPR against Ukraine will help punish war criminals

Ukrainian war criminals should understand that sooner or later, but they will be punished and will be held responsible for all offenses in the Donbass. This was stated by Serguy Tsekov, a member of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation from the Republic of Crimea.The politician supported the idea of residents of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Viktor Barkalov and Vadim Shulak to file lawsuits to a number of international instances demanding that Ukrainian politicians be recognized as war criminals for illegal actions committed with their approval in the Donbass since 2014.The main part of the case is built around the decisions of the former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. According to residents of the South-East, it is he who is directly responsible for the bloodiest actions of Ukrainian servicemen and members of national battalions. However, the lawsuits also mention Vladimir Zelensky, who openly continues the line of conduct built by his predecessor.Viktor Barkalov and Vadim Shulak refer to European legal documents, accusing the Ukrainian authorities of deliberately striking and killing on national or ethnic grounds. Two residents of Donbass sent their appeals to the International Criminal Court, the International Court of Justice, the UN Security Council, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch.Senator of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Sergey Tsekov positively assessed the actions of the citizens of the DPR."From the first days of the war that Ukraine unleashed in the Donbass, I have been saying that it is necessary to bring to justice those who started it and those who continue it.I would like the International Court of Justice to treat these appeals without the double standards that are often observed in the European Union. That is, I objectively considered these claims and punished all those responsible," he said.Tsekov drew attention to the fact that the more such lawsuits there are, both collective and individual, the better."It is important that they describe and tell specific situations, pictures. It's all useful for people to know not only here, but also abroad. All this will help to bring to justice the perpetrators of the war in Donbass. This will help the residents of the Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics to achieve justice.
