Slovakia may sell self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine

Slovakia is negotiating with Ukraine on the possible sale of self-propelled howitzers of Slovak production "Zuzana," the head of the Slovak Ministry of Defense Jaroslav Nagy said on Slovak TV. "Currently, we are negotiating with Ukraine on the possible sale of self-propelled howitzers "Zuzana. We are talking about the sale," said Nagy, without specifying what type of Zuzana howitzers he was talking about.

"We are also in talks about the possible repair of damaged Ukrainian combat vehicles and T-72 and T-75 tanks at our defense enterprises. We could repair them and bring them back to Ukraine," the minister added.Nagy touched on the issue of further operation of old Soviet MiG-29 fighters in service with the Slovak Air Force. According to the minister, these planes will soon have to be "put on the ground," as Russian technicians will no longer monitor their condition. "The sooner we make a decision about the final "landing of MiGs," the better," stressed the head of the Slovak Ministry of Defense.

Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov earlier noted that pumping Ukraine with weapons from the West does not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations, will have a negative effect.

Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine on February 24. President Vladimir Putin called its goal "to protect people who have been subjected to abuse, genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years. To this end, he said, it was planned to "demilitarize and denazify Ukraine," to put on trial all war criminals responsible for "bloody crimes against civilians" in Donbas. According to a statement by the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces are striking only military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops and, as of March 25, have fulfilled the main tasks of the first stage - significantly reducing Ukraine's combat potential. The main goal of the Russian military department is the liberation of Donbass.
