Sony will combine PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now into one service

The Japanese company Sony announced that in June it will introduce an updated PlayStation Plus service, which will merge with another company project — PlayStation Now. There will be three subscription options available, priced from $10 to $18 per month.

PlayStation Plus Essential is a continuation of PlayStation Plus — for $10 per month, the user will get access to the multiplayer component of video games and the ability to add two free games to the library every month. Also, exclusive discounts and cloud storage for games will be available to gamers.

PS Plus Extra will additionally allow you to play more than 400 video games on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles, including exclusive Sony games. They can be downloaded to the console, games such as God of War (2018), Marvel's Spider-Man, Death Stranding and others will be available at the start. According to Sony CEO Jim Ryan, Sony's new exclusive games will not automatically be included in the subscription, unlike the similar Microsoft Game Pass service. PS Plus Extra subscription will cost $15 monthly.

PS Plus Premium will cost $18 per month and additionally will give the opportunity to launch about 340 projects that first appeared on the PS, PS2 and PS3 consoles. Games for PS3 will be launched using cloud technologies, and for projects with PS, PS2 will be able to download games to the console. It will also be possible to stream games from PS4 and PS5 to a computer.

Earlier in the Russian PlayStation Store, it was again possible to add games from PlayStation Plus to your library. Sony has not announced or commented on this in any way. In March 2022, Sony suspended the PlayStation Store in Russia due to the military operation in Ukraine.
