NFTs are tokens, or virtual commodity ownership certificates. They cause a lot of controversy because they are often associated with fraud.
The developer of the game Age of Rust, which rewards users with NFT products for solving puzzles, drew attention to Valve's actions. The developer claims that the project will soon be removed from the company's store, although he does not agree with the decision.
"Steam believes that these items have value, and they don't want things that have value in the real world to be available on the platform. While I respect their choice, I firmly believe that NFT and blockchain games are the future."
Epic Games has taken a different approach. CEO Tim Sweeney announced that blockchain-based games can appear in the studio's store if they comply with the law and the site's terms of service.
