1. First start by finding an “L” like shaped area in your home (or wherever) if you can't find one use objects to make your own “L” shaped area Example: using chairs would be fine.
2. Next you will need to add an object in front, and beside you to block the shape in like a circle. (aim is to make a place for the dog to circle around you. So leave enough room for you and the dog.)
3. After this, you will get into position with your dog (in your circle shape) Now begin to lure the dog backwards using a tasty treat, or a toy that they have a high drive to. (a toy they love or want) You can do this by keeping the treat/toy in your hand in a fist shape while moving it around your body in a circle motion around your self. (if you're using a toy don't let the dog take the toy away from you. It's okay if the dog mouths the toy while moving backwards around you.) Make sure you reward any steps the dog takes backwards so they understand that they're getting it. (Mark by saying yes good boy/girl,or using a clicker.)
4. Also try to make sure you really keep focused on the way you're luring them. By this I mean moving your hand the best you can around yourself to really help your dog. (it matters how you lure them)
5. If your dog doesn't get it right away don't be raised or upset, you can try again another time of the day or even another day. DO NOT GET UPSET WITH YOURSELF OR THE DOG.
6. If your dog has begun to understand it and is picking up on it, then your next step would be to remove a chair. If they get this off the hopp and it's not a problem for them then remove the next chair. Take your time, no rush.
7. Now, with both chairs removed you should have just your “L” shape. Using this shape still stand in the position you and your dog were in and just keep practicing, DON'T FORGET REWARD ANY STEPS BACK. (they will take this as a good influence)
8. After this you will just keep practicing as you desire and eventually your dog will get the hang of it. Only now when you practice this trick start saying the command you'd like to use (example: back orbit, back spin, circle
