Yaroslav Nilov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, spoke about the big miscalculation with pensions, which will become apparent as early as January 1, 2022.

 

The cost of food, housing and utilities services, as well as medicines has increased significantly more than the official inflation rate, said Nilov. He told what miscalculation could be revealed from January 1, 2022.

 

The miscalculation concerns indexation. Monthly old-age payments will be indexed by 5.9%. This figure is in next year's draft budget. The budget is based on a forecast of inflation of 5.8%. However, the actual inflation rate is higher. In October, it was 8% and will probably rise further.
