The ghost of a dead man saved me on a fishing trip

As a child, my grandfather often took me fishing with him. He taught me everything in this business, even to make fishing rods myself. To be honest, at first I didn't like fishing at all, but then I got carried away. Now I'm 45 years old, and I can't imagine my life without fishing.

This summer, a story happened to me that I still have nightmares about. I decided to go fishing at night on the weekend. According to legend, once upon a time there was a church on the site of the Holy Lake, which one day suddenly collapsed and disappeared under the waters of the formed lake.

I drove up to 3 o'clock in the morning, got settled. The weather was beautiful — there is almost no wind, it is warm, and the moon illuminates everything perfectly. After about an hour, I started hearing a dull metallic screech. I've seen a lot in my life, but I've never heard such a sound in the woods. The sound appeared and disappeared, it was uncomfortable. I'll sit for a while and go, I thought. I don't like all this.

I was about to do this when I suddenly heard a low, prolonged moan from the other side of the lake. He didn't look like any animal. I see someone floating on the lake, very smoothly, but at the same time fast. A head appeared above the water — the monster was coming ashore. That's just the coast didn't start there, I'm 100 percent sure of it. In that place, there are still 10 meters to the bottom, no less.

His shoulders and head were all in some kind of thickets, similar to mud. Out of fear, I froze in place and could not move, and the strange creature continued to approach.

Here I do not know, maybe it seemed, but I heard the ringing of bells coming from all sides, and then the distinct voice of grandfather: "Throw the whole catch into the lake and run, son!". At the same moment I took a bag of fish and tried to throw it as far as possible into the water. At that moment I didn't care about the fishing rod, I ran as fast as I could to the car, even left my briefcase. After climbing a small hill, I turned around to look, and the monster stopped right on the shore. In general, I barely escaped, thanks to Grandpa. And I no longer go to the lake at night and dissuade all my friends. So far I haven't found any explanation for what happened. Be careful!
