Many people tend to fancy boarding schools. They prefer their kids to join boarding schools due to some of its advantages such as more learning time among others.
But try to figure out this situation where a child is taken to a boarding school at a very young age of let us say 8years. What do you expect that kid to be in future? First it's very obvious the kid has been denied the parental love and care. That child won't have that affection of a parent to child. He/she would probably see a parent as a stranger. Such children won't open up to their parents to tell them their problems or any other issues. That is where they start to develop depression and stress.
Children tend to adopt many evil behaviors while in boarding schools. How many times have the schools have their houses burnt down by the students? How many times have you heard of the cases of drugs and substances abuse in schools? See the rampant cases of bullying? What about the sexual harassment? Even gayism and lesbianism has been rampant in many boarding schools.
The children in boarding schools go through a lot, both physically and mentally. No wonder most of the boarding schools alumni turn out to have a somehow very weird character in the society.
In my opinion I would just advice parents not to take their kids to boarding schools at an early age. They should sit with their kids and be free with them. Just get a very good and decent day school for your child. Remember the school will never determine the academic performance of your child, just advice them to work hard and do their best and you will see the fruits.
Sneaking is very rampant in boarding schools. Many students sneak out of the school to indulge in immoral acts such as premature sex, drug abuse, and also illegal businesses. Some of the students end up getting accidents at that period when they have sneaked out of school. Just imagine you as a parent you are just relaxing at home from a busy day work knowing your kid is at school learning, only to receive a call that your son or daughter has died from road accident since he/she sneaked out of school. Who would you blame? Of course the blame always goes to the school!
The cases of theft are rampant in boarding schools. Many of the students steal from each other. Even though the act of stealing is bad, I can redirect my blame back to the parents. Imagine a parent sending a kid to a boarding school but he/she gives out the kid less or no pocket money at all. You know most of the parents have never been In a boarding school so they usually think life there is easy. I wish they knew what these kids go through while in the school. I think if a parent cannot give enough pocket money to a child then day school should be the best option.
Parents, prefer a day schools. It may not seem a good idea but try to figure out the negativity of boarding schools. You will realize boarding schools are a poison to the young and innocent children. Don't ruin our kids dreams let us be wise.
