I had the opportunity to visit Machu Picchu in 2023. I was travelling with a group of friends, and we spent three days exploring the city.

Getting to Machu Picchu

The easiest way to get to Machu Picchu is to fly to Cusco, Peru. From Cusco, you can take a train to Aguas Calientes, the town at the base of Machu Picchu. The train ride takes about three hours.

Once you arrive in Aguas Calientes, you can take a bus or hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes, and the hike takes about four hours.

My Experience

I was amazed by the beauty and wonder of Machu Picchu. The city is incredibly well-preserved, and it is easy to see why it is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

I was particularly impressed by the Incas' engineering skills. The city is built into the side of a mountain, and it is incredibly complex. The Incas were able to build a city that was both beautiful and functional.

I also enjoyed learning about the Inca culture. The Incas were a sophisticated civilization, and they had a rich history and mythology.

Conclusion

Machu Picchu is a must-see for any traveller interested in history, culture, or simply stunning scenery. The city is a truly unforgettable experience.
