President Uhuru Kenyatta chaired the first National Executive Council (NEC) meeting for coalition party Azimio la Umoja One Kenya on Thursday
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Council Secretary-General Junet Mohammed reported that the NEC will nominate individuals to be appointed to the coalition's various panels and committees.
"The Council mandated the Executive Committee to propose suitable candidates for appointment to the Electoral Committee, the Electoral Appeal Committee, the National Disciplinary Committee and the Coalition Dispute Committee," he explained.
Junet added that the council decided to form an advisory body to recommend to the coalition a suitable running mate for coalition presidential nominee Raila Odinga.
"The Council has also decided to appoint an advisory body to recommend to the presidential nominee suitable candidates for the nomination for the vice presidential nomination," Junet said.
The meeting was attended by members of the Council including Senior Councilor Martha Karua, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu, Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka and KANU Party Leader Gideon Moi.

Alfred Mutua is unhappy with Azimio's leadership
On the other hand, Maendeleo Chap has asked Chap party leader Alfred Mutua questions about the composition of the Azimio One Kenya coalition party.
Mutua said none of its party members are in the coalition structures published in the Official Gazette, while other parties have multiple members in structures.
Mutua asked if this is how the Azimio-One Kenya government would be formed if they came to power.
“To the Kenyans who have asked me why some of the parties in Azimio la Umoja have multiple positions in the two official structures while others like the Maendeleo Chap Chap party do not have ONE representative and WHETHER this is a sign of coming, if we win elections? I'm also quite concerned," wrote Dr. Mutua online.
Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua, Peter Kenneth and Kalonzo Musyoka are among those proposed to join Odinga.
