The new Huawei P50 arrived without the promised HarmonyOS 2.1

Super Device function, new control panel, widgets, animation effects

On September 29, 2021, Huawei began the first sales of the standard Huawei P50, which is a simplified version of the flagship Huawei P50 Pro. It was reported that the Huawei P50 would come with HarmonyOS 2.1, but that did not happen.

According to Huawei Central, the Huawei P50 smartphone runs HarmonyOS 2.0.1 version 155 (C00E150R3P6) out of the box. This phone has received a number of new features out of the box, including the Super Device feature, a new control panel, widgets, and animation effects.

The new Huawei P50 arrived without the promised HarmonyOS 2.1

Back in August, the Huawei P50 passed the certification of the Chinese regulator TENAA, which confirmed that the tested smartphone was running on pre-installed HarmonyOS 2.1. However, it is now clear that an update to HarmonyOS 2.1 is not yet available for this smartphone.

The Huawei P50 version, equipped with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of flash memory, is available in China for around $700.
