PPOP is already produced since 1970s. It's been going on since then and never stopped. One of their famous pop singer who made a name in different countries especially western countries and also in billboard is Charice Pempengco. He is now known as the name Jake Zyrus. His first studio album went popular, making it the first album of an Asian soloist ever to land in the Top 10.
Ppop solo singers have made their own names like Sam Concepcion, Gary Valenciano and many more. Moving on, PPOP is one of the classics in OPM - Original Pilipino Music. Currently it's still owning the music industry alongside Philippine RnB.
At the present time, PPOP are becoming more popular in different countries. Various agencies are producing their own PPOP groups to dominate the music industry. PPOP groups has also been with them since from the start. Some of the famous ppop groups in the early 2000's were Chicsers and Sexbomb Girls.
PPOP groups popularity arise again after the release of Go Up’s dance practice video of SB19 which gained millions of views. As time passes by, SB19 are also making their own name in the global music industry. Several accomplishments were made by the group including the first Filipino act to be nominated under the Billboard Music Awards Top Social Artist category.
As what they said, SB19 became a standard in PPOP groups. The said group's aim is to make Philippines music known worldwide. Other PPOP Groups that has been recently released such as BGYO and BINI make their own way to the global scene which caught the attention of the worldwide audience. Their objective was also the same with SB19's which is to make Philippine music popular.
The release of great PPOP groups are now increasing and you might as well check them. There's a lot PPOP groups to look out for not just the groups mentioned aboved, there's also VXON, KAIA, LITZ, LUNA, MNL48, G22, 4TH IMPACT and the list goes on.
