NordPass has published a list of the most unsuccessful passwords for smartphones, laptops or Wi-Fi in 2021. Attackers will use these combinations for hacking in the first place.
Despite the fact that the list of bad passwords is published every year, this does not seem to affect the conscience of users, who continue to be careless about their own security.
The most unreliable passwords.
So, traditionally "original" numeric combinations are in the anti-rating list: 123456, 123456789, 12345, 123321, 111111,1234567890, 1234, 000000 and other similar variations.
Some users thought they would make a very secure password if they entered the combinations qwerty123, 1q2w3e, aa12345678, password123, abc123.
And someone decided not to "bother" with numbers at all and typed one of these classic combinations: qwerty, password, qwertyuiop.
What other combinations.
Recall that last year the leader of the winter rating was "123456", which was used over 2.5 million times. The second place was taken by the "complicated version" of the first variant - "123456789", which was used almost a million times.
The third position is taken by the newcomer in the ranking - "picture1. The remaining places in the top 10 are taken by "password," "12345678," "111111," "123123," "123455," "1234567890" and "senha. With the exception of "picture1," all passwords from the top ten are picked by cybercriminals in less than 10 seconds.
In Spring 2020, F-Secure researchers announced a list of passwords which are most frequently used by hackers when attacking so called "decoy servers.
Surprisingly enough, the first thing attackers try to use is a standard admin combination. Other popular combinations are default, 123456 and root.
Attackers can also use the code vivx, which is the default protection for DVRs from the Chinese company Dahua, used in surveillance cameras around the world. Other common passwords also include 1001chin and tazZ@23495859, which are factory passwords for many devices, such as routers.
