Turkey Makes Drones That Can Destroy Bombs With Laser Lights

Turkey has successfully tested the world's first drone with a laser weapon. This was stated by one of the Turkish politicians, Aykut Erdogdu.

"The (laser) shots that were successfully fired were from a distance of 500, 300 and 100 meters," Erdogdu told Anadolu news agency,

The drone, named Eren, is designed to destroy explosive devices such as bombs and ammunition from a certain distance using laser weapons. Eren was developed by Turkish defense companies Tubitak and Asisguard.

The drone's maximum flight altitude reaches 3,000 meters. Drones are one of the products of the defense industry from Turkey that are in great demand in the world. Some countries that use Turkish-made drones include Azerbaijan, Qatar, Niger, Poland, and Ukraine.

Earlier, Russian government spokesman Dmitry Peskov criticized Turkey for selling military drones to Ukraine. The drone from Ankara was used by Kiev when dealing with the conflict in Donbas, southeastern Ukraine.

“We have criticized Turkey for this, as we believe it is a problem that prompted Kiev and the Ukrainian Government to choose a violent solution to solve their internal problems in the southeast. If Ukraine starts attacking its own people again, it will be another disaster for Europe," Peskov said.
