Our daily nutrition is an important factor that contributes to our general health and well-being as human beings. Because of the importance of every area of our bodies, practising effective self-care is necessary for preserving our overall health.
Consuming the appropriate foods and cultivating healthy behaviours that are beneficial to our well-being should be considered a component of self-care. Our bodies are made up of a variety of important organs, some of which are the heart, eyes, hands, kidneys, spleen, and reproductive organs, amongst others.
In this piece, we will be concentrating on two things that are frequently taken but have the potential to cause damage to our livers and kidneys.
If any of these organs becomes injured, it could have severe repercussions for both our health and our ability to continue living. Both of these organs are essential for the proper functioning of our body.
The kidneys are responsible for eliminating waste from the body, whereas the liver is responsible for cleansing the blood. Because of this, it is extremely important to make dietary decisions that do not place an undue amount of strain on the organs mentioned above.
To begin, a big number of us consume a lot of processed foods, which frequently contain added sugars and may be found in things like soft drinks, sodas, cakes, junk food, canned goods, and other similar items. Numerous scientific investigations have demonstrated that these chemicals and artificial sweeteners have deleterious effects on the liver and kidneys.
These processed foods can also include fried dishes such as bean cakes (Akara), fried potatoes, yam, plantains, chips, fish, and a variety of other options. It is important to note that the kidneys and liver do not benefit in any way from the consumption of fried foods because of the presence of trans fats in these foods that are obtained from oil. To better support the health of our kidneys, it is best not to rely on processed meals but rather to increase the amount of fresh fruits and vegetables that we consume on a daily basis.
Alcohol is another popular substance that is ingested by a large number of individuals and can cause damage to the kidneys and the liver, according to Healthline. Because it contains a variety of substances, drinking alcohol on a regular basis might have negative effects on your body.
Consuming alcohol on a consistent and excessive basis can put a strain on the organs, increasing the risk of kidney and liver failure. This can lead to diseases such as cancer of the liver and cancer of the kidneys, in addition to other health difficulties such as problems with the heart, excessive cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, and other health problems.
Because of this, it is absolutely necessary to cut back on the amount of these drugs that we consume in order to save our kidneys and livers.
In conclusion, in order to protect the health of our kidneys and livers, it is essential to pay attention to what we put into our bodies and pay attention to what we put into our bodies. We may make a positive contribution to the health of these critical organs by decreasing our consumption of processed foods, avoiding drinking excessive amounts of alcohol, and placing an emphasis on consuming a diet that is abundant in fruits and vegetables.
