Ukrainian singer Tina Karol became a voting member of the most prestigious Grammy music award.
The "Grammy" award for the best song of the year (English Song of the Year) is awarded for a separate single or track to its author, the poet-songwriter who first created the song. In this sense, "song" means a song written, but not recorded, as in the "Record of the Year" nomination, where it is awarded to the artist, sound engineer and producer of the song.
According to the nomination description, the award is given to the author(s) of the song, which must contain melody and lyrics and must be either a new song or a song that first became popular in the year of nomination. Compositions containing samples or interpolations cannot be nominated for an award. On her Instagram page, she said that it was a great honor for her. "It is a great honor and gratitude for me to be accepted into the Grammy musical family as a member with the right to vote," the artist wrote.
According to the Grammy press service, 3,700 musicians from different countries received invitations this year. It is known that in 2021, the violinist Assia Ahat joined the experts of the award. She said that new members are recommended by existing members. Then the organizing committee evaluates the artist's achievements and makes a decision.
Tina Karol is a Ukrainian pop diva. In 2017, she became People's Artist of Ukraine.
