US President Biden once again called the 1915 events "genocide"! Turkey's reaction was not delayed

The President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, once again used the term "genocide" in his message published every year due to the April 24, 1915 Armenian events. The reaction from Ankara was not delayed. In a statement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Biden's statements were strongly condemned.

Due to the events of April 24, 1915, tensions existed between Turkey and Armenia for a long time. Despite the fact that the two countries have taken normalization steps, the US continues to take a remarkable stance on the issue.

AGAIN USED THE Phrase: "GENOCIDE"

US President Joe Biden used the term "genocide" in his statement on April 24, 2021. Biden also used the term "genocide" for the events of April 24 in his message published this year.

"OTTOMAN AUTHORITIES ARRESTED ARMENIAN COMMUNITY LEADERS"

The White House shared the US President Joe Biden's statement on the 107th anniversary of the events of April 24, 1915. Biden's statement said, "On April 24, 1915, the Ottoman authorities arrested Armenian intellectuals and community leaders. Thus began the Armenian genocide, one of the worst atrocities in the 20th century."

NO ANSWER FROM THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN

The Foreign Ministry gave a harsh response to Biden's statement. In the statement, "Statements that are incompatible with historical facts and international law regarding the 1915 events are not valid. This includes the unfortunate statement of the US President Biden today, which is a repetition of the mistake he made in 2021. It rejects such statements and decisions that distort historical facts with political motives, and insist on this mistake. We condemn those who do."

"WE REJECT PAIN TO BE MADE AS POLITICAL MATERIAL"

The Ministry's statement continued as follows: "One-sided and selective approaches that serve no purpose other than to raise hostility from history are morally problematic and politically malevolent. A humanitarian and conscientious stance requires that all sufferings experienced at that time be commemorated, regardless of ethnicity or religion. Turkey, all Ottomans, including Armenians. We respectfully commemorate the sufferings of its population. We reject attempts to use these sufferings as a political material. Turkey is of the opinion that controversial periods of history such as the 1915 events should be researched without prejudice, within the framework of scientific and legal principles, and a fair memory should be reached. With this understanding, Turkey proposed the establishment of a Joint History Commission and kept its archives opened."
