What copyright law does in a country

What does it mean by  the term copyright? Simply put is  a type of intellectual property that gives its owner the exclusive right to copy and distribute a creative work, usually for a limited time. The duration for the expiration of Copyright protection differs  from country to country, and can stand for 50 to 100 years after the individual’s death, depending on the country or jurisdiction in question. Taking a look at the duration for the expiration of copyright protection in Nigeria in literary, musical, and artistic works (excluding photographs) the duration for copy right protection lasts for seventy years from the end of the year in which the author dies, and where the author is a government or a body corporate, 70 years after the end of the year in which the work was first published. While in the case of Cinematograph films and photographs the copyright protection last  for fifty years after the end of the year in which the work was first published.  Copyright protection for broadcasts and sound recordings lasts for 50 years after the end of the year in which the broadcast or the recording was first published.

At this juncture i want  you to know that when a Copyright law  is firmly established and effectively in operation  in any country it does fuels creativity , encourages diverse voices , promote free speech and create vibrant culture, you might asked what is the aim of this copyright law in a country

The aim of Copyright law is to protect a person's intellectual property like a person's book, article, essay, and other innovative object,
Hence the copyright law in a bit to  achieve its aim has forbidden any person, government, corporate bodies and organisations from attempting to reproduce, scan and distribute or disseminate whole or any part of another person's intellectual property in whatsoever form without the requisite permission or authorization of the owner of such intellectual property.
