What does real love mean to you?

What is the definition of love? Love is defined as having or showing compassion or large amounts of compassion for something. But it goes so much deeper than that.

Love is life. Just like respect, it is something we should all base our lives on. I don't mean just saying you love people. I mean actually showing them the love you proclaim to have.

When your friend, family member, or who ever you choose to imagine for this calls you and says they need help with anything whether it be their addiction from drugs to chapstick (Yes, it's a real addiction, look it up), instead of just saying "I got you". We here that so much in today's society. If you actually "got" them, show them the love you would want someone to show you. I'm not saying go empty out your bank account for thos person. I understand, you do have a family and bills. But, there are other ways to show show love. My bank account is not pretty, but if you called me in this situation, I would do what I could. I would be that shoulder to cry on, that ear for your words. Love is not money.

Sometimes, when you tell people that you love them and they call upon you for help, they just want someone to listen to them. They want them to hear what they say, not just listen, but hear and understand. It may be true. You may not be able to understand the situation all the time they are currently facing, but if you're there just to lift them up, listen to them, even pray for them if you believe in God, that's real love.

I can proudly say I'm a God fearing man. I have people contact me a lot and ask me for advice or just want to vent about their life and talk. Now honestly, I am past the point of listening to people complain. But, because I tell people I love them, I show them that love. I am that kind word they need, that prayer needed to breach the clouds, that shoulder to cry on, that hand to hold as I tell them to smile, keep their head up, keep going, and don't look back. And that, is love.

May these words I use reach the person it needs and it helps that person in whatever way they need help. Y'all stay safe out there, stay prayed up, and know your rights.
