What Putin and Biden really talked about behind closed doors, the press service of the president of Russia said

The Russian presidential administration has revealed what Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden talked about. A document has appeared on the Kremlin website that describes the subject and nature of the conversation between the two world leaders.

The meeting took place via videoconference on Tuesday evening, December 7. It was not pre-planned; it was revealed suddenly earlier this week.

According to the document, Biden and Putin discussed how much progress had been made in U.S.-Russian relations since their meeting in Switzerland over the summer. The presidents decided to maintain the "spirit of Geneva" together and to continue to negotiate constructively.

The Ukrainian crisis was the main topic of discussion. Vladimir Putin demonstrated to his counterpart why Washington is behaving in a destructive manner and this is leading to a deterioration of the situation.

In addition, Russia is convinced that Kiev is in complete violation of the Minsk agreements. Also, Ukraine is constantly behaving aggressively in the east of the country.

Joe Biden, in turn, said that he is concerned about the large-scale movement of military personnel near the borders of Ukraine. He called the maneuvers of Russian equipment "threatening".

The American president intends to introduce new sanctions against Russia if the situation worsens. Putin responded that Ukraine and NATO are to blame, not Russia. The country needs to defend itself, because the Alliance is behaving aggressively and is building up its grouping near Russia's borders.

One of the main problems is the regular mutual expulsion of diplomats. Downsized embassies cannot work effectively in the current difficult situation. The U.S. regularly sends Russian diplomats home, and Moscow has to mirror its response.

Vladimir Putin suggested that Joe Biden remove all restrictions and return to constructive work. All diplomats should return soon and begin to regulate relations between the countries.

In addition, the meeting also discussed the problem of the Iranian nuclear program and cybercrime. During the conversation, the topic of World War II was raised, December 7 in the U.S. remember all those who died during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. The presidents agreed that it was necessary to act solely by diplomatic means and join forces to solve problems.
