Why is pasta called "pasta"?

Greetings my dear friends and subscribers ✌

Indeed, all over the world pasta is called pasta, and only in the CIS they are commonly referred to as "pasta. What is the point and is there a difference between the two?

The word "pasta" itself came to us from Latin and means nothing less than "pasta". Hence the name of almost all Italian pastries (except pizza and pastries). That said, for Italians and other European peoples, "pasta" is a completely independent dish (unlike us, because we are used to seeing the same pasta as a side dish).

All pasta is made from dried dough, and before eating it we need to bring this semi-finished product to readiness in boiling water. But although both pasta and pasta are made from dough, there are still differences characteristic of their culinary traditions and manufacturing peculiarities.

Real pasta is made only from durum wheat flour and water. Durum wheat contains much more B vitamins and minerals, and is a source of complex carbohydrates (which, in contrast to simple, give a feeling of fullness for a long time). And some nutritionists even believe that quality pasta is not a serious threat to your figure.

We (in the past) rarely used durum wheat to make pasta, defining it as a "second-rate product." But nowadays, many manufacturers have begun to call their pasta products "pasta", wanting to emphasize the fact that they use high quality raw materials.

Thank you all for your attention to my publications, I hope you liked it, come again.

Sincerely Eduard!
