Why is SEO Important for Businesses?

You know that SEO has been something around for a little while, but you're not sure why it's important?

In today's article, I'm going to share with you the top reasons why it's important and how it can make you more money.

If you've never heard of SEO before? It stands for SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION.

When somebody puts something into Google, Google spits an answer back out and SEO is the way that Google finds that answer.

When you start utilizing SEO for your business, it means that you can get in front of more clients.

 Why is that important?

Because word-of-mouth referrals will only get you so far. SEO is how we built my business, and when we have to pick it up and move every four years, it is the way that we find clients in new areas. They go searching for what we provide, and because our SEO is done correctly on our website, it means that they find us quickly. That leads to the second reason why SEO is important. Whether you're relocating to a new area or you're just tired of working in the same old city, SEO allows you to move into new markets before you're ever physically working in that market.

When we first moved from Boston to Virginia, we were able to book multiple clients before ever physically setting foot in the state of Virginia. Because we implemented SEO in a way that our ideal clients in Washington D.C and Virginia were finding us on the internet long before we had ever done a single job here.

That is powerful, guys, because what that means, is not only for being found in the market that you're in or the market you want to be in, it means increased revenue.

The third reason why SEO is so vital to the health and growth of your business. More money means more ability to do more things, upgrade your equipment, and maybe save up for that fun adventure that you have been wanting to go on for a vacation with your family.

So that's powerful. That in and of itself should convince you right now to go get started on your SEO.

The next reason why SEO is so important is that paid advertising isn't a guarantee

that it's going to work. We've all probably put money into Facebook ad marketing, Instagram marketing, and maybe even paid Google AdWords. The reality is, while it may work you have to dump a ton of money into getting the results back.

SEO on the other hand is something that you can do. It's something that you can put the work into and not as much money, which is a great return on investment in my book.

The last reason that SEO is so vital to the health of your business is that we don't own the platforms that we're on. I can put a ton of effort and money into Facebook. I can put a ton of effort and money into really growing my Instagram or my IGTV. But the reality is, that those platforms could go away tomorrow.

Look at Periscope and MySpace. Any platform that we don't own, like our website, our URL, or our newsletter list, are things that we don't really actually have control over, and so SEO integrally ties into your website and your presence online. For that reason, SEO is king when it comes to moving into new markets, growing where you're at, and getting in front of brand new clients that are ideal and perfect for your business.

I hope this article has helped you understand the value of SEO.
