13 kitchen tricks that even experienced housewives don't know about

Armed with information about the intricacies of cooking certain foods, it is much easier to create culinary masterpieces.

Here are some cooking secrets that will be useful to beginners and seasoned cooks alike. You may already be using some of them.

So much the better - you won't have to doubt that they all really work.

1. To prevent potatoes from sticking to the bottom of the pan and sticking to each other when frying, it is enough to hold them in water for a while and then let them drain or even soak. This way you get rid of excess starch. An added bonus will be a reduction in the caloric content of the dish.

2. If you are going to boil vegetables, you should always consider what you need them for. If you plan to use broth, it is better to put them in cold water, if not - in boiling water.

Do you like crispy rice? Nothing easier, just let it sit in cold water for half an hour before cooking.

As an alternative to mayonnaise you can make sour cream with some mashed boiled egg yolk and mustard.

5. "Reanimate" dill or parsley will help vinegar. It is enough just to put the greens for a while in water with vinegar.

6. Instead of just boiling sausages, try frying them in sunflower oil, pre-greasing them with mustard.

7. Carrots should be boiled no longer than other vegetables, 5-10 minutes, and salted only at the end of cooking. Otherwise, its flavor will not be rich.

8. To make the liver soft, it is enough before roasting to sprinkle it lightly with sugar.

9. Add a little cognac to the batter. The baked goods will be much more fluffy. Cognac can replace not only the leavening agent, but even yeast.

10. Beat the eggs properly. Note that the whites should be kept cold before whipping, and the yolks, on the other hand, warmed to room temperature.

11. Replace some of the flour with starch; this will only benefit the baked goods. Cakes and muffins will be puffy and soft, even after a day, and pancakes will be much more tender.

12. do you want to avoid splattering when frying? Sprinkle a little regular salt on the pan before pouring oil on it.

13. Dreaming of scrambled eggs? Whisk eggs with cold water at the rate of 1 tablespoon per half cup of eggs.
