The phrase, however, is ambiguous, if you know about the slowness of the French.
Implant
When you have something foreign but necessary implanted in your body, you want to make sure it doesn't fail right out of warranty, like some expensive cars do. If this happens to a Nobel Biocare implant, the company will fix it for free as long as the person is alive and the implant is in their mouth. It's the same story with Mentor breast implants, but we really hope you don't need that.

Here's where the Swiss were bolder than the rest. Their warranty on the famous Parker is from the realm of myths; it's usually three years with an extension. But the company Caran d'Ache that carefully coats pens with silver and rhodium promises a lifetime warranty on all components. However, there are not many of them.

After Tarantino's promotion of Zippo in "Four Rooms," the brand could have retired, clogging its already full pockets with sudden superprofits. But there they continue to stamp out brutal steel lighters with traditional wicks and repair even those made in the 1930s for free.

Not the whole thing, to be exact, but the steel frame. It's backed by a lifetime warranty from Kona. Although a warranty on a piece of steel, albeit stressed, doesn't seem like such a desperately bold move.
Knife
A popular rumor has it that some Swiss knife, either Victorinox or Wenger, once fell into a well and sat there for a couple of years until it was found during a repair. It had a corroded spring on the scissors, but all the blades were fine. It gives us the sudden knowledge that there are wells in Switzerland, and it gives the companies mentioned the ability to give a lifetime warranty on their knives.
