Apple Launches Limited Edition Beats Studio 3 Wireless Headphones

Apple has introduced limited-edition Beats Studio 3 wireless headphones that are designed in partnership with the fashion brand A-COLD-WALL owned by British designer Samuel Ross. Called Beats Studio 3 Wireless — A-COLD-WALL Limited Edition, the headphones feature a slate colour palette that features a “speckled cement” application covering both build and ear cushions. Apart from the fresh design, the new Beats Studio 3 are identical to the existing headphones that Apple first launched back in September 2017.

 

Apple unveils the new Beats Studio 3 Wireless

The headphones have the A-COLD-WALL Limited Edition moniker on the left earcup that is embossed with a white rose petal, with the limited edition logo appearing on the centre speaker grille of the headphones. The headphones come in a matte black finish with embossed A-COLD-WALL logo on the back of the headband. To begin with, the Beats Studio 3 headphones will be exclusively available at select Apple Stores, Apple's online store and Beats Boutique at selected large international airports. The first batch of headphones will also be sold at Apple's pop-up stores at select airports. The Beats Studio 3 Wireless is available in a number of finishes including a slate, a dark red, and a grey. Each colour is accentuated with different tones of pebble in the gloss finish.

 

The latest design by A-COLD-WALL

The A-COLD-WALL limited edition of Beats Studio 3 Wireless wireless headphones features a dark grey colour palette with splashes of orange, grey and white. The headphones are crafted in a glossy plastic shell and the ear cushions have a leather-like finish. There are rubber strips on the sides of the earcups and the headphone’s aluminum control dial is embossed with the A-COLD-WALL name. The latest Beats headphones also feature the same control pad design on the right earcup, which is flanked by volume rockers on the left earcup. While the previous Beats Studio 3 wireless headphones were priced at Rs 39,999, the new A-COLD-WALL limited edition headphones are priced at Rs 44,000. The control pad on the right earcup houses playback controls and also the call block feature.

 

What do you think of the design?

Everything seems to be functioning as expected with the A-COLD-WALL Limited Edition Beats Studio 3 Wireless headphones. They come with Apple’s W1 chip which helps make setup faster and supports quick pairing of the headphones with Apple devices like iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X and iPad Pro. They also support Dolby audio technology and comes with 20-hour battery life. But given the price of Apple’s wireless headphones, you are unlikely to find better quality wireless headphones at this price point.

 

How does it compare to other headphones in the market today?

We compared the A-COLD-WALL limited edition Beats Studio 3 wireless headphones with the Apple-made wireless Beats Powerbeats3 Wireless headphones for a rundown of the similarities and differences between the two. Battery life: Both the Beats Studio 3 Wireless headphones and the Powerbeats3 Wireless headphones offer similar battery life at 10 hours of playback with wireless and on the wired connection respectively. However, the A-COLD-WALL Beats Studio 3 wireless headphones have an extra 6 hours with the wired connection. Meanwhile, the Apple-made wireless Beats Powerbeats3 headphones come with a lightning port and provide 14 hours of battery life with wireless and on the wired connection.

 

Conclusion

With the addition of the new A-COLD-WALL Beats Studio 3 headphones, Apple has been engaging in a race with its top competitors — Samsung and Bose. Not to be outdone by their rivals, these headphones will go on sale starting in the United Kingdom and the United States today. As of now, there is no information available on the pricing of these limited-edition Beats Studio headphones.
