Apple iPhone 13 Series Could Launch on September 17, Next-Gen AirPods on September 30

iPhone 13 series has been tipped to launch on September 17 and the third generation AirPods have been tipped to launch on September 30. The latest leak comes via a tipster on Chinese microblogging website Weibo who shared a screenshot of four models of the iPhone 13 series that have been previously rumoured as well — iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, and iPhone 13 mini. The next-generation AirPods have been listed as AirPods 3 but it is unclear if that will be the final marketing name.

iPhone 13 and AirPods 3

The leak has listed the specifications of all the four models that have been previously rumoured, however, not all the four variants will get the same amount of RAM and storage. While some are rumoured to come with 2GB RAM and 64GB storage, some of them could come with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. According to the leak, the iPhone 13 will come with an all-glass design with a stainless steel frame, IP67 certification, and dual SIM capabilities. The iPhone 13 Pro is said to come with a 6.1-inch full-screen display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. It will be powered by an A12 processor with dual rear cameras, dual-SIM capabilities, and come with 512GB of storage. The iPhone 13 Max is expected to sport a 6.

Pro Max, Pro, and Mini

Apple's new AirPods were expected to launch in February and the company showcased a concept-like AirPods case and a new charging case at the company's WWDC 2018 event earlier this year. Although the company didn't talk about AirPods 3 at the event, there were reports that indicated that Apple is working on a new version of its wireless headphones with an upgraded case, wireless charging capabilities, and water resistance. The new leak shared by a Weibo user suggests that the upcoming iPhones will feature biometric sensor but it doesn't provide any information about the biometric sensor or the addition of another sensor. It could be a combination of Touch ID sensor embedded in the home button with the company's new Face ID technology.

What to expect from the new iPhone 13 series?

While we have previously reported on the launch of new iPhone models in September this year, what has now become clear is that the two iPhone models to be unveiled are the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 Pro, as per the latest leak. Both these models are expected to run the latest A13 chip — Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC. They are also said to come with a glass chassis. There are also two iPhone 13-series models called iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini that could also be in the works. The former is expected to feature a 4.7-inch display, while the latter is said to come with a 5-inch display. Both are said to come with an edge-to-edge display and Face ID support. However, the 5-inch version will reportedly come without 3D Touch support.

Next-generation AirPods

AirPods 3 comes with a perforated material inside the earbuds, which is a first from the AirPods line. The leak is interesting given that Apple does not typically reveal any product design details until it launches them. Also, leaks from 2018 are usually pure speculation with no solid evidence backing up the claims. iPhone 13 Pro The second leak details the iPhone 13 Pro. While the rumour details the standard and Plus variants of the handset, it also states that the latter comes with 3GB RAM. iPhone 13 Pro We already know that both the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Plus are likely to have an all-screen design with thin-bezel display, but the iPhone 13 Pro is expected to have a 6.1-inch LCD screen.

Conclusion

The new iPhone models are expected to be called the iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, and iPhone Xr. The iPhone models likely to be the iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, and iPhone Xr are said to launch in silver, space grey, and gold colour options. They will feature a notched display on the top and it will be slightly bigger than iPhone X. The iPhone Xr is said to feature an LCD panel but no notched display. The iPhone Xr is also said to have a larger screen than the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max. This indicates that it could be the cheaper option in the iPhone series. The iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max are expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC in some markets and the iPhone Xr is said to sport the Apple A12 SoC. All the three models are said to have dual-SIM support.
