Are Ghosts Real? There are six doubts about ghosts according to science

Almost all over the world believe there are spirits who survive death to live in other realms and we usually call them ghosts or spirits. But do ghosts exist and are real? Although there are some people who do not believe in the existence of ghosts, discussing ghosts may also make some of us feel afraid and some are deliberately seeking to find out the truth of their existence. There are many forms and types of ghosts or spirits in every country. In fact ghosts are one of the most widely believed paranormal phenomena. Millions of people are attracted to ghosts and thousands of people read stories on Reddit every day. For information, Reddit is a community or media platform in the form of an entertainment website that is currently popular in America and Europe. The fact that millions and thousands of people are interested in ghost stories is based on a poll that found that 46 percent of Americans say they actually believe in ghosts. But only about 7 percent of respondents said they believed in the undead or vampires. However, this raises a big question regarding the scientific view of ghosts, are ghosts real according to science or scientific studies?

Experts admit that the difficulty in evaluating ghosts scientifically is that surprising phenomena are always associated with ghosts. Starting from a door that closes itself, a lost key, moving items, cold areas in the hallway, to the appearance of a deceased relative or relative. In American mythology and many other Western cultures, ghosts or spirits are the dead who interact with the living world. In many stories, ghosts may whisper or groan, cause objects to move or fall, mess with electronics, appear as shadowy, blurry, or translucent figures. Here are some research opinions about the truth of ghosts that show scientific doubts about ghosts.

1. There is no universal definition of ghost

Sociologists Dennis and Michele Waskul have interviewed people about their experiences with ghosts for their book Ghostly Encounters: Haunting of Everyday Life. In the results of the interview, they found that many people claimed to have had experiences related to ghosts. However, they are not so sure that the phenomena they are experiencing are the work of ghosts because they have not seen anything that most people call such ghost sightings that are usually described or told.

"In contrast, many of our respondents simply believed that they had experienced something extraordinary, something inexplicable, extraordinary, mysterious, or frightening," said Dennis and Michele.

Thus, the researchers or the authors of the book believe that personal experience is one thing in life but scientific evidence is another matter. This is what makes the investigation of ghosts difficult because there is no one universally agreed definition of what a ghost is. Some believe that ghosts are spirits of the dead who for whatever reason 'get lost' on their way to another world and others claim that ghosts are telepathic entities that are projected onto the world from our minds. In fact, some people make a special category of these various types of ghosts with various names and manifestations.

2. Ghost contradiction

In the absence of a universal definition of this ghost, there are many inherent contradictions. For example, are ghosts material or not? Either they can move through solid objects without disturbing it, or they can slam doors shut and throw objects across the room. According to logic and the laws of physics, it is one or different. If ghosts are human souls, why do they appear to be clothed and perhaps soulless with inanimate objects such as hats, sticks, dresses or trains, ghost cars and carriages as the stories circulate. If ghosts are the spirits of those whose deaths are not avenged, why are there unsolved murders, because ghosts are said to be able to communicate with psychic media, and should when communicating ghosts be able to identify their killer to the police? There are many questions about ghosts and almost all claims about ghosts give rise to logical reason to doubt them.

3. There is no real evidence of communication with ghosts

Many people have tried or claimed to communicate with these spirits or ghosts. To investigate and search for evidence of ghosts, ghost teams were formed at prestigious universities such as Cambridge and Oxford, and in 1882 the most prominent organization was the Society for Psychical Research. A woman named Eleanor Sidgwick is an investigator in the group and is considered a real female ghostbuster. In America during the late 1800s, much of the psychic media admitted to talking to the dead, but was later exposed as a scam by skeptical investigators like Harry Houdini.

4. No ghost detector

As is known, nowadays technology is increasingly sophisticated and for those who are interested in ghosts, many of them are doing ghost hunting with today's high-tech tools. These include Geiger counters, Electromagnetic Field (EMF) detectors, ion detectors, infrared cameras and sensitive microphones. However, none of these pieces of equipment have ever been proven to actually detect ghosts. According to some other researchers claim that the reason ghosts have not been proven to exist is because we do not have the right technology to find or detect the spirit world. Then if that's true, then all photos, videos, audio and other recordings that are claimed to be evidence of ghosts so far are not ghosts. This will again contradict the claims of people who say ghosts exist but cannot be detected or recorded scientifically. If ghosts were real, and were some kind of unknown energy or entity, then their existence would be like all other scientific discoveries in that they would be discovered and verified by scientists through controlled experiments, not by ghost hunters wandering around with cameras and flashlights. Indeed, a lot of scary photos and videos make him look like a ghost. However, neither of these offer good evidence of ghosts. Even some hoaxes are made to deceive people. The rest just proves that the equipment used can sometimes pick up noise, images or other signals that people don't expect. Ghosts are the least likely of the many possible explanations.

5. First Law of Thermodynamics

Albert Einstein proposed a scientific basis for ghost reality based on the First Law of Thermodynamics: If energy cannot be created or destroyed but only changes form, what happens to our body's energy when we die? Could it be manifested as a ghost? This is considered a reasonable assumption. But when digging further into basic physics the answer is very simple and not at all mysterious. Namely after a person dies, the energy in his body goes where all the energy of the organism goes after death i.e. to the environment. Energy is released in the form of heat, and the body is transferred to animals that eat us such as wild animals if we are not buried after death or worms and bacteria and plants if the body is buried after death. Thus, there is no body 'energy' that survives death that can be detected with even popular ghost hunting devices.

6. Illusions in the eyes, ears and brain

According to Science News for Student, someone named Dom started having unusual experiences when he was 8 or 9 years old. He would wake up unable to move. He researches what happened to him and he learns that science has a name for it: sleep paralysis. Sleep paralysis makes a person feel awake but paralyzed or frozen in place, unable to move or speak or breathe deeply. At this time, it is likely that the person experiencing sleep paralysis will see, hear or feel a figure or creature that does not actually exist. This is called a hallucination. Apart from occurring when a person experiences sleep paralysis. Hallucinations to these obscure creatures can also occur when the brain has too much work, is difficult and without rest. Most of the time, there are too many things that enter through the human senses and are processed in the brain. Psychologist at the University of Northumbria UK, David Smailes said, paying attention to everything around us that is in this world without taking a break can overwhelm you. Most of the time, the picture your brain is painting is accurate, but sometimes the brain adds things that aren't there.
