Bhutanese Dish Ema(Chilli )Datshi (cheese)

Bhutanese Dish: Ema Dasthi is popular curry in Bhutan. Whether you are outsider or a Bhutanese, in any occasion or events, you will be served ema datshi. Ema is Chilli and Datshi is cheese in Bhutanese language. If you visit Bhutan, you will often get to taste ema datshi. And the dish is available: all across the country. Ema Dasthi will be of green as well as red chillies. Chillies can be of any species. If we have cheese and chilli to cook, you will get to taste delicious ema datshi and you can try it out wherever you are. 

Ingredients to make Ema Dasthi 

1) Oil (Vegetable oil) 

2) Onion (can be spring onion as well)

3) Chilli (red or green as per your preference)

4) Cheese (can be amul cheese or home made cheese. But I recommend home made cheese, local cheese)

5) Garlic (your choice. You can add for better smell. Or else, you don't have to. It depends upon your taste and preference). 

These are the ingredients that you need while cooking ema datshi, a delicious hot and spicy dish from Bhutan. Anyone can try out this dish if you want to taste. 

Now let me take you through procedures to make Ema Dasthi: 

1) Boil water (not pot full of water. It can be half or lesser than that as per your requirements. 

2) wash and cut chillies (not so much, not so less. Manage how much you need or want to make)

3) cut onion or garlic if you want to add. 

4) When water starts boiling, add onion and garlic into it. 

5) After sometimes, add chilli that you have cut. 

6) let it boil until the chillies gets cooked well. 

7) When chillies are well cooked (it shouldn't be over cooked), add oil and salt , and also add cheese over it. Do not stir. Keep it for few minutes and stir it gently. 

8) when cheese and chillies gets mixed with other ingredients perfectly, then take it off from the oven. Then it will be ready to eat.
