Chittagong University is the only shuttle train university in the world

Chittagong University is the highest educational institution in the south-eastern part of the country with an area of ​​1853 acres surrounded by green hills free from noise and mechanics of the city.  Which satisfies the thirst of travelers!University of Chittagong.  The largest campus in Bangladesh.  The official journey of Chabir started on November 16, 1986.

 
 About 22 km away from the city in Fatehpur Union of Hathazari Upazila, this campus is surrounded by greenery over a large area of ​​hilly and flat land.

 The CUB built in the lap of the mountains is not only creating the craftsmen to build the country of the future, it has also sheltered in the courtyard of the boundless beauty of nature.
 Before the independence of Bangladesh, this university became the center of the progressive and democratic movement in the then East Pakistan.
 
 At that time the teachers and students of the university played a central role in the rise of Bengali nationalism and the independence of Bangladesh.As there was no university in Chittagong at the beginning of the twentieth century, the people of Chittagong felt the need for a university locally.
 
 In the All India Conference of 1940, Maulana Muniruzzaman, in his speech to the President of Islamabad, presented the idea of ​​building an 'Islamic University' in the Chittagong region.  Later he bought some land in Deyang hill of Anwara upazila of Chittagong.
 In 1942, Nur Ahmad formally demanded the establishment of a university in Chittagong in the Bengal Legislative Assembly.
 
 In the sixties, during the formulation of the Second Five Year Plan of Pakistan (1970-1975), it was decided to set up a 'Science University' in Chittagong.
Later in the election campaign of 1972, Fazlul Quader Chowdhury made a general promise to establish this university.
 
 Later, when he was elected Union Minister of Education, he took formal initiative to establish a university in Chittagong.
 
 A meeting of the National Economic Council held on 9 March 1974 approved the necessary funds for the construction of Chittagong University.
 
 On 29 August 1964, the President of Pakistan Ayub Khan laid the foundation stone of Chittagong University.
 
 Later, on 16 November 1986, Chittagong University officially started its journey.  On 16 November 2016, Chittagong University celebrated its golden jubilee on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.
Only university students will travel;  There are such trains in the world only in Chabi.  The distance from the city to the campus is about 22 kilometers.
 
 So the shuttle train was introduced in 1980 for the students to travel.
 
 This is the uniqueness of Chittagong University from all the universities of the world.  The University of San Francisco in the United States had its own train for student transport.
 
 But now that it is closed, Chittagong University is the only shuttle train university in the world.

 The shuttle and DEMU train are the means of transportation for the university of about ten to twelve thousand students every day.
 
 It is not just visitors who come from all over the country to see the shuttle.  There are many instances of people coming to Chabi to see the shuttle from abroad.  The shuttle is the lifeblood of Chabir.
 
 Many also call this shuttle 'mobile university'.  Chat, stories, songs, studies are not in this shuttle!  Everyone sang together in different bogies and kept the whole train drunk.
 
 ‘Love in Shuttle Train’ is made with this train.  The students of Chabir have acted.
There are three rich museums to be proud of.  The richest and largest museum here was built in the nineties in the lap of the library.
 
 Fossils of thousands of years old trees can be seen as soon as you enter this museum situated on a small hill.
 
 On the ground floor there is a research center and a photography studio, an archeological laboratory, a library of Abdul Karim Sahitya Bisharad Kosh.  There are five galleries on the third floor.
 
 The first is the ‘Pre-Historical Gallery’.  There are fish fossils, various historical monuments of Buddhist monastery, lampstands collected from Comilla Kotbari of 7th century, terracotta plaques of Kotbari, terracotta plaques of Sompur Bihar.
 
 The second one is called 'Sculpture Gallery'.  In this gallery there are stone sculptures of 5th, 7th and 8th centuries.
 
 The third one is called 'Islamic Art Gallery'.  This gallery contains handwritten Qur'an Sharif, Nakshe Selemani, manuscript writing tools, medieval weapons, cannon, poetry collection, Alamgirnama of 1209, Gulista of Persian language, Kabinnama of 1229-36, Meptahus Salat written in 1061 AH, Firoz Shah-Firoz Shah  Old money of Shah-Mahmud Shah-Emperor Aurangzeb and Akbar's time.
 
 The fourth gallery is 'Folk Art Gallery'.  There are scenes of rath yatra, sleeping Kumbhakarna, biography of Lord Krishna, scenes of milk of Rama and Ravana, ivory birds, heads of royal sticks, weaving, medieval ornaments, hansuli, waist chains, first age ceramics, hand fan, kaler.
 
 The fifth is 'Art Gallery'.  Here are the paintings of contemporary painters Zainul Abedin, Mortuza Bashir, SM Sultan, Hashem Khan and Abdur Rashid.
 
 There are two more museums in Chabi.  There is a museum (zoology museum) in support of the curriculum of the Department of Zoology.
 
 The museum was established in 1983 as a supporting institution in support of the curriculum of the Department of Zoology, University of Chittagong.
 
 About 540 specimens are preserved in this museum.  Of these, 57 were animals and 485 were formalin samples.
 
 The other is the Marine Resources Museum: This museum has been set up in a room of the Institute of Marine Science, University of Chittagong.
 
 About 550 marine animals have been preserved here.  From sharks to electric fish, strange banakel, octopus, snails, snakes, there are innumerable wonderful biodiversity.Colorful relics of the language movement and the war of independence have been erected at various places in Chabir.  Seeing these architectural works will awaken deep respect, love and patriotism in the minds of this generation.
 
 The campus is being decorated with Abdul Karim Bhaban (Faculty of Arts and Anthropology Bhaban) and a library of students demanding 'Rashtrabhasha Bangla Chai' of '52.
 
 Beside the mass uprising of the seventy-nine people mourned with the shirt of Shaheed Asad!  Bangabandhu is giving a historic speech on March 7 by raising his index finger beside him!  The 24-year history of independence, starting from the language movement, is revealed in Chabir's 'Swadhinata Mural'.
 
 There is only one 'independence sculpture' of the university.  There are ‘Smaran Smritistambh’, ‘Swadhinata Bhaskarya’ and ‘Buddhijibi Smritistambh’ on campus with the glorious story of the liberation war.
 
 At the entrance of the university is the sculpture 'Smaran Smritistambha', a memorial of seven freedom fighters and intellectuals.
 
 The sculpture commemorates the sacrifices and heroism of a total of 15 freedom fighters including 1 teacher, 11 students and 3 officers and employees of Chittagong University during the Bangladesh War of Independence in 1971.
 
 The memorial contains the names and pictures of seven freedom fighters of Chittagong University.Chittagong University Campus is like a wonderful green land of natural beauty.  The largest school in the south-east of the country is like a combination of nature and human life.
 
 The Chubby Campus is a living museum of all kinds of birds of various colors flying on the green trees, deer in the lap of the green hills, pythons or other rare and endangered animals.
 
 There are no hanging bridges, fountains, botanical gardens, museums, mysterious Chalanda pass or vast fields on the CU campus!
 
 The turn of the season can be felt with the heart at the CU campus.
 
 With the arrival of the monsoon, the freshness of nature, the autumn cashews, the golden paddy of autumn or the blossoming of spring flowers can all be seen on or off the campus.
 
 Nature has endowed Chittagong University with its infinite glory.  Man-made installations including Chabi Jharna, Hanging Bridge, Katapahar will also attract anyone.
 
 Behind the Faculty of Arts and Anthropology there is a beautiful mountain spring.
 
 This place is famous for its waterfalls coming down from the hills and for the nature lovers who come to see the breathtaking views of the waterfalls.
 
 Besides, the beauty of Rangamati can also be seen in the CU campus.  Like the hanging bridge of Rangamati, there is also a heart-hanging suspension bridge in Chabi.  The bridge is located near the Department of Social Sciences.

 There are many rows of shops next to the different faculties and halls of Chabir.  These shops are called huts.
 
 These huts are one of the places where CU students hang out.
 
 These huts are the source of delicious and tasty food of Chittagong University.
 
 These huts are built in tin tents on the hillside with different faculties, arranging a variety of stuffed and fun food.
 
 Meals are available here at relatively low prices.  These huts are the mouthpiece of hundreds of students waiting for breakfast, lunch, hot rice or bharta.
 
 Like a gathering of rich, middle class, lower middle class and poor students.
 
 Where everyone is equal, companions are all kings, all musicians, singers or gossipers.  The hut of the Faculty of Arts, the hut of the social sciences, the hut of Ladies Hall are among them.
Green Forestry, initiated by the Institute of Forestry and Environmental Sciences, has turned the university campus into an attractive tourist spot.

 This mysterious magical beauty can be enjoyed to the left or south of the rhyme after a 50-minute walk west with the rhyme water in the hut of the Faculty of Arts.  There is knee-deep water in some places.
 
 If you continue along this mountain pass rich in pure water, you will see an unprecedented scene of cultivation of various crops including ginger and mustard.
 
 Nature-loving students go to enjoy this beautiful beauty almost every day.  Chalanda Pass has become one of the places of interest.

 Chittagong University has 12 residential halls for about 26,000 students.  Of these, 6 are for boys and 4 for girls.  There is also a Govinda Gonalanka dormitory for Buddhist students.
 
 Chats, funny feelings and sharing, studying at night, fighting with bed bugs can all be enjoyed in the halls.
 
 Serving a sleepless night when a roommate falls ill is a daily occurrence.
 
 The students here spend their university days together with happiness and sorrow.
