Google Pixel Watch time is coming

Remember the rumours about the imminent release of the Google Pixel Watch? They've come up more than once and have been for a few years. They were hoped to be the impetus for the development of Wear OS devices. And each time those expectations have been dashed by the harsh reality that Google has been slow to release a smartwatch. What's more, this year it became clear that we should not expect a smartwatch in the near future.

The reason is banal and simple - the company believes that its wearable gadget in its current design cannot become mass-market and it is not ready for competition. Google has decided to bide its time and refine it to really make some noise in the market. And now comes the news that an auspicious period has not been long in coming.

Analysts point out that there is now a bit of a revolution and redistribution of seats in the market. Despite the fact that Apple with its smartwatch is still in the lead, but one cannot ignore the upward trend in demand for Wear watches. Not least Samsung has played a role here, helping Google to get the firmware right and releasing the Galaxy Watch 4 with an updated operating system.

It is believed that this is fertile ground in the market and a good time for Google to release its smartwatch. Business Insider has obtained internal company documents that talk about a smartwatch codenamed "Rohan" that will be on the wrists of "90% of the population". It's an ambitious expectation and there's a lot of scepticism about whether it will be met.

And the Google Pixel Watch is due out next year. There are no specifics on what they will be. All we can say is that they shouldn't be cheap. Still, Google's reference smartwatch will have to challenge the Apple Watch, and in terms of price too.
