How to make granita: 5 recipes for a Sicilian dessert
Fresh strawberries are also served with whipped cream. You can use this recipe as a base and vary the berries as desired.
strawberries - 500 g
water - 300 ml
sugar - 150 g
whipped cream to serve
mint - for decoration
Method of preparation:
Wash the strawberries and remove the twigs.
In a saucepan bring the water to a boil, add the sugar and cook, stirring, until dissolved. Allow to cool.
In the bowl of a blender, put the strawberries and sugar syrup. Grind to a smooth consistency.
Put the strawberry mass in a container, put it in the freezer.
Take out of the freezer every 30 minutes, stir with a fork. On the fourth time the granita is ready to be served.
Place in glasses, garnish with whipped cream and a sprig of mint.
