Bongaigaon Refinery( BGR) is the 8th refinery of IndianOil. Consequent upon the admixture of Bongaigaon Refinery & Petrochemicals Limited( BRPL) with IndianOil on 25th march 2009 came the eighth largest refinery of IndianOil and came to be known as IndianOil, Bongaigaon Refinery. The refinery has a oneness of its own with an actuality of over 45 long times, Bongaigaon Refinery have been serving the energy requirements of the state along with the rest of the nation. positioned amidst its spectacular beauty in the Chirang quarter of Assam, it's about 200 km west from the state capital Guwahati.
The processing capacity of Bongaigaon Refinery is2.35 MMTPA of Crude Oil with a plan to increase its capacity to4.5 MMTPA. It comprises two Crude Distillation Units( CDU), two Delayed Coker Units( DCU), DHDT unit including HGU & SRU and CRU/ MSQ units. The first CDU with a capacity of 1 MMTPA was commissioned in the time 1979. The capacity was further increased to1.35 MMTPA in 1986. An LPG Bottling Plant with a capacity of,44,000 MTPA was also commissioned in the time 2003. Further two systems' Indmax Project' and' BS VI' is under perpetration which will misbehave BS VI energy morals. Further with Hydrocarbon Vision 2030 BGR is gearing up to increase to meet the nation Energy needs.
Presently BGR produces a wide range of petroleum products videlicet LPG, Naphtha, MS, SKO, ATF, HSD, LDO, LVFO/ FO, RPC & Sulphur by recycling Imported and Assam Crude.
Bongaigaon Refinery has taken colorful terrain managment enterprise such a Ecological Park inside the Refnery demesne, Parivesh Udyan as natural pond and Nandan Kanan Herbal and Orchid Garden. Bongaigaon Refinery has a unique way of treating Industrial Storm water in Natural way which is one of its numerous innovativeeco-initiative.
