Love all, But trust nobody

“ please, remember the day I went through pain just for you to survive. Remember the day I was crying in a pool of blood just for your sake. Please don’t do this to me” She said, begging him as she was crying.

Abdullahi, My friend and I met in the university. He was so calm, gentle and calm. Though I wasn’t really religious but I went to the mosque sometimes. So, one of the reasons why I loved Abdullahi was the fact that he was so religious and prayerful. He would always call me to pray, and he would always do anything to make me complete my five time daily prayers. Soon, I was getting adapted with it and I always thanked him for what he had done in my life, most especially, my relationship with God.

But ever since we graduated from the university, things became really hard for my friend and I. We have submitted our school certificates in to many companies, but at the end, our applications would be rejected. We had tried everything we could but everything resulted in vain.

“ Abdullahi, what are we going to do with this hardship that’s happening to us?” I asked him, as tears rolled down from my eyes. After hearing this, he smiled, held my hand, and we started walking on the road. I had thought he was taking me to where we would get money, But No, He took me to the mosque to pray. After praying, he turned to me, “ Believe in God, Everything would be fine”. Well, I wouldn’t say I was happy because I wasn’t expecting that, I thought he was taking me to a place we would get money.

Abdullahi didn’t stop praying to the God, as he would always go to the mosque to pray and taking me along with him every time. Whenever I was fed up and started talking despairingly, he would take me to the mosque and ask us to pray. “ everything would be fine. Very soon” He would always tell me.

But after some weeks, I noticed some changes in him, he started talking somehow. He would always say “ I must get rich this year” - “ I must become a billionaire this year by all means”. In the first place, it was just a normal thing to me, I thought he was changing his mindset, I thought he was talking to himself positively. But it was all a lie.

One day, I was even at home writing an application letter when I got a call from Abdullahi, My friend. He said I should come and meet him somewhere. Abdullahi was a friend that I trust so much, so, meeting him anywhere can’t be a problem to me. I immediately left what I was doing and went to meet him.

As I got there, it was more like a forest, no house was there, it was only rounded with trees and leaves. I called him and he came to take me and we walked a little more. As we got to where we were going, I was so shocked at what I saw. It was a small place in the forest clothed with red cloths. Then a man appeared to us, an herbalist, he tied chàrms all round his body. Then he started conjuring incantations.

“ Abdullahi, what are we doing here?” I asked Abdullahi, My friend, in a great surprise as I was trembling fearfully. But he just laughed and asked me to calm down.

There we were when an old woman was dragged out from a secret room by two men. Her eyes were covered with red scarf. And she was laid down by the men. “ Abdullahi, what’s happening here?” I was asking him but he just kept smiling.

Then they removed the scarf from the woman’s eyes. I couldn’t believe what I was, It was Abdullahi’s mum. “ Abdullahi, this is your mum, what’s she doing here?” I asked as I was in a great surprise. But he laughed again and looked away from him. He was given a kn!fe by the man and he put it on his Mum’s throat. That was where his mum said, “please, remember the day I went through pain just for you to survive. Remember the day I was crying in a pool of blood just for your sake. Please don’t do this to me”.

But Abdullahi didn’t listen to her, he slit her throat. She k!lled her for money ritual. Then he turned to me, “ How did you think I was able to take my mum to this place?”. He said. I said , “ I don’t know” in great fear as I was shivering.

“ She trust me. Trust nobody” He said.
