Passenger bus falls into an abyss in Nepal, 28 victims

At least 28 people were killed in a car crash in northwestern Nepal. A bus with passengers crashed into an abyss. This is reported by BBC News.

The accident happened on Tuesday afternoon, October 12, in the Mugu district of Karnali province.

According to preliminary reports, the vehicle had a ruptured wheel. The driver was unable to cope with the control and keep the bus. As a result, he fell from the height.

By the time medics arrived, 24 people had died and four more died on the way to hospital. The condition of the injured people is assessed as extremely serious.

A total of 42 people were in the cabin, mostly students and workers from India.

 

Previously, it was reported that a car crashed into a tree near Nikopol. Upon impact, one passenger was thrown out of the car, two more and the dead driver were blocked.

Earlier it was reported that Prikarpattya police officers knocked down a woman and her child at a crossing. As a result of the impact a one-and-a-half-year-old child was thrown a few meters, while a woman ran into the windshield of the patrol car. The victims were hospitalized.
