Tahajjud namaj

Tahajjud namaj

Allah Ta'ala has created us, nurtured us with light, air and water - that is why we have to perform the obligatory daily prayers as His servants.  As a servant, one has to perform the obligatory prayers five times a day.  Apart from the obligatory prayers, there are many other types of prayers such as sunnat, wajib, mustahab, sunnat mu'akkada, sunnat zaidah, chashat salat, ishraq salat, salatut tasbih, salatut tawba, tahajjuder salat, istikharar salat etc.  These prayers have different status.  However, the best and best prayer is tahajjud.  The prayers of Tahajjud were obligatory on Nabi Karim.

Although it is not obligatory on the Ummah, it is the best of all Sunnah prayers.  Tahajjud means waking up from sleep and the time of tahajjud is to offer Isha prayers and then fall asleep and then perform the prayers after midnight.  Tahajjud has time till Sadiq in the morning.  Waking up late at night and praying is more rewarding.  In the Holy Makkah and Madinah, the call to prayer of Tahajjud is given in the Haramain Sharifain and is performed with utmost importance.  Pak Irshad has said in the Holy Qur'an that on the Day of Resurrection he will praise those who worship and pray on the last night:  (Surah) Azariyat verses (17-18).

Addressing the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), Allaah says in the Holy Qur'aan, ‘And keep reciting Tahajjud for some part of the night.  This is one of your additional duties.  Hopefully, your Lord will place you in Makkah Mahmud.  (Surat al-Isra, verse 69) Iman Mohius, the author of the book Tanvirul Mishkat, quoting Tirmidhi Sharif, quoting Hazrat Abu Umamah, has said:

It is mentioned in Surah Al-Muzammil of the Qur'an, "Of course, waking up at night is very effective in suppressing the mind and reciting the Qur'an at that time is absolutely correct."  They prostrated in the court of the Lord and spent the night standing. 'In the early days of Islam, the main reason behind the victory of the Muslims against the Kufr community was that they would shed tears at the great court of Allah Ta'ala at the end of the night and ask for forgiveness.  ‘They were absolutely patient in the ordeal, steadfast, truthful, absolutely loyal.  Sacrificing wealth in the way of Allah and seeking forgiveness from Allah in the last watch of the night.  (Surah Al 'Imran: verse 16)

The importance of Tahajjud has also been mentioned in Hadith Sharif.  Mishkatul Masabih quotes Sunan Ahmad as saying, ‘Narrated from Abu Horairah, he said,‘ I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say.  Afzalus Salati Badal Mafrudati Salatul Laili 'means the best prayers after the obligatory prayers are the prayers of Tahajjud.  Hadith number 117/2.  In another hadith narrated from Hazrat Abu Horairah, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, ‘Allaah descends to the nearest heaven every night when the last third of the night remains.  He kept saying - Who are you to call me, and I will answer his call?  Who will ask me for something, and I will give it to him?  Who is there to ask forgiveness from me and I will forgive him?  (Bukhari and Muslim)

Citing the Sunnah in the city, Mishkatul Masabih cites a hadith narrated by Abu Saeed Khudri.  It has been said, ‘The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Allaah is pleased with three people (Hasan).  The person who gets up for tahajjud and prays.  Two.  Crowds, who stand in line for prayers.  Three.  Mujahideen who stand in line to fight in the way of Allah.  (Hadith No. 1160/2)

Analyzing the above Qur'an and Hadith, it is understood that Tahajjud is one of the most dignified prayers.  This prayer should be performed by every Muslim man and woman.  It may be easier to get closer to Allah through this prayer.  When the distance with the Creator is reduced, the Creator can protect the claim of the servant.
