After 17 years of existence, Facebook Inc. has finally changed its name. The parent company that has been overseeing Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, has officially changed its name to "Meta". Facebook Inc's name change was announced directly by the company's founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, at the annual Connect conference held in October last year. The name Meta Inc is taken from the term Metaverse. According to Mark, Metaverse will be a 3-dimensional virtual world that humans can enter using virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality technology.
