The developers of the game Minecraft have announced that a full-length film based on the universe of one of the most successful projects in the world of video games will be released on March 4, 2022.
The company is working with Warner Bros. to create a truly quality product. The director's chair was taken by the 2000 Cannes Film Festival winner Peter Sollett. The film will tell the story of a teenage girl and her friends, who must save World of Blocks from the encroachment of a dragon.
"Since we are first and foremost game developers, making a film will be new and very exciting. We understand that the film has to be different from the game (otherwise you're in for an endless picture with a very low resolution), but one thing will definitely be the same. We want to make the movie - just like we make the game - for you. We have enough inspiration, we get it from the reactions of the Minecraft community," the game's official website says.
Minecraft is a sandbox video game in which users can change the three-dimensional world of cubes provided to them. You can build, destroy and fight. Users have no responsibilities, complete freedom of action.The official description of the game is as follows: "This is a game based on destroying and building blocks. At first, players build something to defend themselves against night monsters, but as they progress, they band together to create something incredible. You can experience adventures with friends, or you can watch the sun rise over an ocean of blocks. It's beautiful. Brave players can test themselves in Nether, beautiful and frightening. However, you can go to mushroom country if that's more to your liking."
Let's hope that the filmmakers don't let us down and release a quality and good movie that will surpass even the game itself in sales.
