Top 5 Games of All Time: What Will You Play Next?

If you love video games, chances are you have at least one favorite that you can’t wait to get back to when you have some free time on your hands. Here at Play It Again Games, we know how great it feels to sink your teeth into a new game, especially one that you’ve been anticipating for months. Now that 2015 has arrived, we want to hear from you – what’s your top 5 list of games of all time? The only rule is that the games have to be released prior to the year 2015!

1) Super Mario

Mario’s contributions to gaming history are so massive that we could spend days talking about his feats. But let’s give you a few highlights to get your creative juices flowing. The character debuted in 1981, for example, and has appeared in over 200 video games since then. (What other video game character can say that?) And it was with 1985’s Super Mario Bros. that he took his jump man appearance (and made his trademark Boing! sound) and became one of most recognizable video game characters in history. He also holds a Guinness World Record for being the first-ever hero who saves a princess (from a giant, fire-breathing turtle). Need more?

2) Final Fantasy

The crown jewel of Japanese role-playing games, Final Fantasy has been around since 1987 and is still going strong. While many video game players will quibble over their favorite, Final Fantasy 7 is a go-to choice for RPG aficionados. After it was remade in 2010, fans both old and new were able to enjoy one of gaming's all-time classics. This title boasts rich storytelling and character development along with deep gameplay mechanics. If you want to immerse yourself in a virtual world full of drama, action and adventure, then you need to play Final Fantasy 7 next.

3) The Legend of Zelda

One of my top five favorite games ever, The Legend of Zelda has been around since I was knee-high to a grasshopper. It was one of those few games that captivated me from beginning to end and cemented gaming as a hobby for me. Although I enjoyed replaying it, there were no collectables or unlockable features that made me want to replay it over and over again. What will you play next?

4) Pokemon

One of my all-time favorite video games is a role-playing game by Nintendo called Pokemon. The first Pokemon video game was released in 1998, and it immediately captured audiences across age groups with its fun gameplay and charming story. Since then, more than 17 different versions have been released, including Pokemon X and Y, which are among my favorites. In these games you can collect nearly 800 unique Pokemon and battle friends or enemies to grow your collection even larger!

5) Minecraft

Minecraft is an open-ended sandbox game in which players can build anything they imagine. It was originally created by Swedish programmer Markus Notch Persson, and later developed and published by Mojang. The creative and building aspects of Minecraft enable players to build constructions out of textured cubes in a 3D procedurally generated world. Other activities in the game include exploration, resource gathering, crafting, and combat.
