What happens when people curse or swear? Think about it...

The word is not any sound energy. It is a symbolic reality that carries in itself, a reality that expresses itself. The word that promotes the Holy Name of Jesus brings the presence of Jesus. The word of blessing, brings with itself a blessing. And the words of curses, curses and curses that we bark, are not empty words (flatus vocis), but they have their own harmful consequences. No one, absolutely no one should curse or swear. Whoever curses or swears becomes an instrument of the devil. To curse is not to speak only evil, or to speak ill of someone, which is a sin; it is to condemn someone or something to oblivion. Cursing, swearing is a grievous sin.

Cursing, cursing is like spitting on a mountain. The first to suffer from this evil is the one who does it. Curses and curses are the fruit of a heart far from God. There is no justification for a believing person, even if the world has all the means for her to curse.

The holy apostle James says in his list:

"With it we bless God and the Father, and with it we curse men, who are made in the likeness of God. From those very mouths come blessing and cursing. My brethren, it is not fitting that it should be so. Is the crypt from the same source malt and hot? Can a fig tree, my brothers, give birth to olives or fig grapes? And the corns cannot give you malt water. (James 3:6,9-12).

The matter is therefore understandable and simple. Just as a source cannot give fresh and brackish water at the same time, so a believing person cannot bless God and then curse his neighbor. When a Christian has God in his soul and heart, he lives out God in the Communion and meditates on His Word night and day, it is impossible that curses and curses will come out of his mouth, because his mouth promises from the fullness of his heart (Matthew 12:34).
