Why are some people refusing to get vaccinated against Covid-19?

In general, vaccines are not new. All vaccines have one objective, prepare and equip our immune systems by introducing tiny amounts of a certain pathogen, our immune system will then spring into action. The purpose for manipulating our immune systems using this method is so that if the vaccinated individual does come into contact with the actual pathogen, their immune system will already know how to eliminate it. After all, its so often that life threatening complications from disease are caused by immune responses. Allergic reactions are a prime example of this, someone allergic to bee's gets stung and their immune system over reacts causing massive amounts of inflammation in an attempt to eradicate the bees venom, however the resulting inflammation can cause airways to restrict limiting supply of oxygen to the brain, a life threatening complication. Our immune systems work very diligently to protect us from invading pathogens, even when we aren't consciously aware of it. We put ourselves and our bodies through so much. Our immune systems ability to protect can be compromised by underlying health conditions. The coronavirus responsible for SARS-CoV-2 is an aggressive virus and destroys healthy and vital cells at alarming rates combined with how easily and quickly it spreads from person to person. The fact that this virus and its variants is so new its very scary because its impossible to predict whom will suffer life threatening complications. There are some consistent factors, one of those factors is that individuals with underlying health conditions especially those that impact how the immune system responds, are at a very high risk of life threatening complications caused by SARS-CoV-2, Covid-19. Scientist's and medical personnel across the globe collaboratively and as quickly as possible were in fact successful in creating a vaccine against the coronavirus responsible for SARS-CoV-2. This is certainly a victory worth celebrating! Why would anybody be against something that will save lives? If you had an opportunity to have a conversation with anyone whom lost loved ones to this disease, it creates a much different perspective, if one person decides not to get vaccinated and contracts the virus maybe they show symptoms, maybe they dont, and they pass it along to someone with underlying health conditions and they don't pull through...

Disease is not a new phenomenon. Throughout history, humans have endured outbreaks. Polio and Measles even rabies or West Nile Virus, malaria, these viruses wreck havoc. Its estimated that the Spanish Flu of 1918 killed roughly a quarter of the worlds population. So, all the surrounding controversy regarding Covid-19, allegations made against the government, that the virus is man made, or they deny its existence altogether... Its definitely real, wherever it came from isn't as important as putting an end to its mission to search, replicate, destroy and mutate. Viruses are tiny! How does such a tiny specimen cause such a commotion?

A fear of change, an aversion to trying new things and a fear of the unknown, even fear in general become a breeding ground for misunderstanding. With all the information available including facts, lies, statistics and variables, making the decision to get vaccinated or not is a personal choice. Just because its a new vaccine, a never seen before virus, the point is to stop the tiny virus in its tracks, its going to take a combined effort to stop the virus from claiming lives. So we can get back to our pre-pandemic lives!!
