In fact, according to a study in the American Journal of Epidemiology, women who spend more than six hours a day sitting had a 37% higher risk of dying young than those who spend less than three hours a day doing so.

How Sitting Affects Your Posture and Spine:

Long durations of sitting might potentially harm your spine and posture. Long durations of sitting place your hips and spine in a flexed position, which can cause hip stiffness, lower back discomfort, and bad posture.
